Aldan´s educational policy
Aldan's educational philosophy is rooted in the constructivist ideology. Our approach focuses on play, exploratory methods, and exploratory play, forming the foundation of all our educational activities.
Constructivism is a learning theory encompassing insights from thinkers like Jean Piaget and Lev Vygotsky, who explored the structure of knowledge, and John Dewey, who delved into students' assumptions and experiences. In essence, constructivism emphasizes active student involvement, utilizing prior knowledge to build experiences, knowledge, skills, and attitudes. It fosters a real understanding where students learn from past experiences and knowledge, creating new knowledge by connecting the old with the new. This philosophy shifts the focus from merely evaluating facts to acquiring knowledge, understanding, and serving as a foundation for social, ethical, and intellectual development.
In our school activities, we prioritize reflection, problem-solving, reasoning, understanding, and practical application of acquired knowledge. This approach cultivates curiosity and critical thinking, enabling students to seek solutions, make thoughtful decisions, and convert them into new knowledge.
Our curriculum integrates various fields of study, interwoven with fundamental aspects of kindergarten work: play, daily care, and general life skills. Aldan Kindergarten has established its own goals, aligned with legal requirements, the Main Curriculum's core objectives, and considering contextual factors like staff, facilities, environment, and societal influences.
The kindergarten's goals include:
The kindergarten curriculum is structured around six basic elements:
Literacy and Communication emphasize students' ability to comprehend and express themselves in various ways, fostering communication skills essential for social interaction.
Health and Well-being focus on mental, physical, and social health, instilling values of a healthy lifestyle, exercise, proper nutrition, rest, hygiene, and positive self-image.
Sustainability and Science aim to cultivate an understanding of ecological footprints, promoting responsible living without compromising the needs of future generations. This involves developing an appreciation for nature and a sense of responsibility.
Creativity and Culture highlight the importance of creativity in learning and development. Students are encouraged to express themselves through various creations, fostering creative thinking, independence, and diverse perspectives.
In essence, Aldan's educational framework is designed to provide a holistic and enriching learning experience, ensuring students develop into well-rounded individuals with a strong foundation for their future endeavors.
